It has been almost 2 years since I first started the Curling Family Website and in that time lots of things have happened within the family, across the country and internationally.
When I first started working on the family website, we had just started the first lockdown due to Covid and at the time we all felt it would only last about six weeks or so. Clearly, we were all naïve. Since then, we have been through various lockdowns; working from home; different levels; plan A and plan B. Two major variants with the current version being omnicron. It is not wholly clear yet but it does appear that we are making the transition from Covid being a pandemic to it being endemic within the population similar to the common cold or flu. As a family we seem to have been relatively lucky as far as Covid is concerned. Although various family members have proved positive with Covid, some of us more than once, none of us have been seriously ill with the virus. I am not sure whether or not this should form part of the family history but as a global pandemic it certainly forms part of social history. As such I will write a full account sometime soon.

This section of the website is available for every family member to post their stories and histories. I think it is extremely important that we try to record our own thoughts and activities during this particularly worrying time. It is important that we record all of this as part of the families and societies family history. All posts initially will have to be posted by me but I hope to alter that as soon as I can work out how.
Anyway for my part it is day 7 of the so called 'lock-down', I have been collecting and researching the history, ancestral roots and stories of our family. Now that I seem to have some time on my hands I am finally getting round to organising this information and posting it on the family website. Everyone is welcome to comment and contribute to the website, I would dearly love to see your own stories, photos etc. I will do my best to publish them as soon as I can. You can send me a message on the contact page or send images etc via Dropbox, Wetransfer or any other means. best Regards Stay Safe Alfie |
